QUESTIONS ON ORDERS
Q. How many mounts can I order ?
A. You can order as many as you wish .. however as a trade manufacturer rather than wholesaler we are unable to send out any order with a value of less than £30 before VAT and delivery charges
Q. But I can't see on the price lists the item or the size of mount that I require..?
A. Not a problem. We manufacture to order and to stock so none standard sizes or apertures are our stock in trade.
Q. But why a minimum order ?
A. Carters Mounts manufacture with some of the most advanced computerised equipment available. Minimum order requirements are to maintain production efficiency and keep prices down through increased productivity..
QUESTIONS ON CARRIAGE
Q.So if I do place an order how much is the carriage. ?
A.Carters Mounts supply everything ex works. Recently we signed a new contract with TNT who are now our national carrier agents. A fixed rate applies on all orders up to 20kgs in weight of £11.49p per consignment plus VAT. There are geographical exceptions which would include Highlands and Islands where additional premium rates may apply. These will be confirmed for you at point of ordering..
Q. OK but I only want a few just to try them out .. how much then ?
A. Under the terms of our contract all our deliveries would incur the minimum TNT delivery charge of £11.49p
Q. Sounds expensive ?
A. We want you to receive your mounts in perfect condition so we "cacoon" them
in layers of shrinkwrap, board and tape and of course it all adds up to weight....
however the mounts arrive intact and useable.
Q.What are the advantages of the overnight carrier ?
A.
The great advantage with the overnight carrier is that the mounts are in transit for LESS TIME and therefore at less risk.
Q.So you do an overnight service .. Great !!!!!!
A. Ah sorry.. no we don't. We make the majority of our mounts to order and we now have a 48 hr despatch service for certain stock items and therefore overnight service is after points of manufacture.!
Q.How long do I have to wait for the order ?
A. We try and ascertain by e-mail when orders are taken what deadlines have to be met. If when the order is placed
we find customer deadlines can't be met we would say so and then the opportunity is there to look elsewhere..
Q.How long for the order did you say..
A. 2008 has been an exceptional year for us and we have been extremely busy. Targets noiw are set at a maximum 14 days delivered from the confirmed payment recipt of the order.
QUESTIONS ON APERTURES
Q.OK more questions this time on holes in the middle.. what's the term..?
A. Apertures..
Q. Your price lists only show certain apertures and I want something different..
A. Not a problem. The price of all our mounts is based on the outer dimensions not the aperture required.
Q. So I can have any hole size (sorry aperture! ) I want ?
A. Yes. in fact you can have as an optional extra as many apertures as you like in the mount.
Q. But I have to pay extra for that ?
A. The first aperture is free with the mount. Optional holes are charged at up to 20p per additional hole.
Q.Is there a limit to how many apertures I can have ?
A No.. but we would certainly be checking with you that the "web" structure left is strong enough to be self supporting .
QUESTIONS ON WHITE LINER BACKS
Q.Before I go what is a white liner back ?
A. Having successfully completed trials the existing 650 micron white liner back has been upgraded and replaced by the slightly heavier 1275 micron cream coloured pulpboard back. Other more substantial backing boards are available by special order.
Q.What function does it perform ?
A. The liner back fits behind the mount and forms a barrier between the taped in image and the bag. It hides very nicely your taping from your customer.
