The Editorial Team

The Editorial Team

CartersMounts’s editorial team comprises an Editor-in-Chief, section editors, and volunteer contributors from the Lincoln rowing community. We commission, verify, and publish content on club activities, competitions, coaching, and river stewardship, ensuring every piece is scrutinised for clarity, accuracy, and relevance.

Editorial Line

Our coverage prioritises rowing in Lincoln and the wider region: athlete development, inclusion and safeguarding, safety on the water, and celebrating achievement. Reporting is evidence-led and impartial; opinion and analysis are clearly labelled and kept distinct from news.

Journalistic Values

We uphold accuracy, independence, fairness, and transparency. Sources are identified where appropriate, quotations are verified, and conflicts of interest are declared. Advertising and sponsorship never influence editorial decisions.

Ethics and Deontology

We follow the Editors’ Code of Practice and the NUJ Code, comply with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, and respect laws on defamation, privacy, and copyright. Subjects are offered a right of reply where practicable. Corrections are issued promptly and visibly. We avoid plagiarism, protect minors and vulnerable people, and maintain a strict separation between editorial content and commercial communications.
